Trak Shak Camper Trailers
Over Two decades of manufacturing experience allows Trak Shak to produce a camper that not only suits campers needs but one that can take on the harshest conditions this country has to offer.

Trailer Specifications The Chassis The strength of any camper trailer is in its chassis. At Trak Shak we have been perfecting our design for over 20 years. So that you can have the confidence in knowing wherever you venture in this wide country your Trak Shak is built tough to survive the journey there and back for many years to come. The Trak Shak chassis is designed and built to provide maximum strength whilst keeping the overall weight of the camper to a minimum. Our unique pre stressed draw bar and SHS chassis construction provides a bullet proof foundation for our camper. With 4 super strength recovery points fillet welded directly to the chassis even if you do get yourself into trouble offroad you know you have the option to recover the unit safely. Jerry can and gas bottle storage, a full length toolbox and boat loader are just some of the features integrated into the overall construction of the standard trailer. Suspension The way a trailer tows behind your vehicle is determined by a few factors, the main factor is the suspension design, at Trak Shak we developed our own unique coil sprung independent suspension system over 18 years ago. With many millions of Km's traveled this design has proved to be incredibly reliable. This design is now standard on all of our trailers. A spare suspension stub axle is supplied bolted to the side of the trailer because in the outback you just never know. Matched to this suspension is 10" electric drum brakes, this remains the most efficient and reliable trailer braking system for offroad applications. In addition to electric brakes, mechanical overide brakes are also provided as standard. With the extra long draw bar on the Trak Shak reversing in or out of tight spots is a breeze. The static height of the Trak Shak gives the unit a huge advantage as our clearance height, approach and departure angles far exceed those found on most 4wd's. One space saving feature built into the Trak Shak is the fact that the unit will sit very safely up on it's two rear recovery points, thus allowing the unit to be pushed into the back of a garage or carport, sat up on its rear recovery points and minimise the space required when your unit is not being used. This method of storage allows you to park a small car in the space normally occupied by the trailer alone. The unique design of the Trak Shak kitchen allows the facility to be used in several ways. Attached to the tailgate on the side of the road for one of those quick touring meal stops, again left attached to the tailgate but opened into the tent for a quick overnight stay or free standing anywhere around the camp site, this way the cook is never very far from the action. The kitchen includes a 2 burner gas stove on a stainless steel sliding cradle, washing up bowl, water hand pump, three large storage crates, drop down legs and a slide out stainless steel prep bench. When using the kitchen free standing the water supply to the sink is via one of the 20 litre jerry cans whilst the gas for the stove is via one of the 4kg gas bottles, both of these can be brought to the kitchen as required wherever the kitchen is located around the campsite. Manufactured from high quality stainless steel this unit will stand the test of time. The Kitchen caddy and fridge caddy are munufactured with identical mounting holes, this allows the fridges to be relocated to the rear tailgate (both front and rear tailgates are wired with 12v to accomodate this) when the kitchen is free standing thus allowing the fridges to be located in the tent for easy access. At Trak Shak we use only the best materials in our trailer construction, this applies also to the manufacturing of our tent. We use only Australian made Wax Converters Textiles canvas, milled in the Hunter Valley in NSW, our belief is it is the best canvas on the market today. Our unique tent design provides one of the largest and easiest to set up tents on the market. In under 2 minutes one person can have the tent set up for a quick overnight stay. Once open the tent provides not one but two full queen sized beds up off the ground, with the addition of the kids room another sleeping area is provided under the secondary bed space. The main tent area measures 3.2m by 2.5m with a height of over 3m at its peak with an awning area of 3.2m by 2.0m, with these sort of dimensions you will never again feel boxed in, even in the worst weather. An optional wall kit is available for the awning, this includes a full wrap around mesh wall with two doors sewn in as well as a solid canvas wind break wall. Both walls can be used simultaneously. The interior of the Trak Shak Majestic needs to be seen to be believed. With two queen sized mattresses up off the ground and the option for an additional kids room this unit has dedicated sleeping spaces for at least 6 people, that's not to mention the internal tent space that could easily cater for another 6. Two custom ladders are provided for upper bed access while the supplied marine carpet helps insulate the vinyl floor, two large PVC window overlays enable you to open up the large tropical windows in bad weather without exposing the interior of the tent to the rain. All of the internal tent poles are stowed beside the main bed so are at hand whenever they may be required. A room divider and kids safety mesh are available as are walls for the awning. The 12v system in the Trak Shak allows low voltage power distribution to multiple power outlets located around the camper. There are two located inside the tent at the foot of the main bed area, two are located on the inside of either tailgate (4 in total), these are designed to power the fridges irrespective of which tailgate you choose to run the fridges and one each at either end of the campers exterior, these can be used for external lead lights as required. All of these are run through fuses located at the battery box which is located on the front tailgate. Each Trak Shak is supplied with a 50 amp Anderson connector cabled in heavy gauge wire from the tow hitch location back to the battery, this when connected into the tow vehicle will charge the trailer battery off the vehicles alternator whenever you are driving. This unique design makes the loading and unloading of boats a breeze. The gas strut force chosen will make the loading and unloading of any boat to a weight of about 70kg an effortless exercise. Stronger struts can be used for heavier boats. Once the catches securing the loader to the top of the suitcase have been released the gas struts will lift the loader and boat up off the top of the camper and allow you to either lock both in the vertical position to allow tent set up or continue over and lock both in the horizontal position with the boat now the correct way up with it's keel on the ground. The simple but effective boat motor mount located on the front tailgate allows safe storage of your boat motor up to a weight of 45kg's. The motor can be fixed to the timber mount and then padlocked on using the transom screws. The unique stone guard can be used in a configuration that protects the entire front of the camper including your outboard motor. The intergrated boat loader and solar rack allows the best of both worlds. The frame is designed for the mounting of three large format solar panels, these panels can produce up to 9 amps of charging currant for the 12v system built into the trailer. On a good solar day more than enough power to replenish your battery. All of this power is regulated through a Plasmatronics PL20 solar controller. Currently None Available
Construction

Welded to this chassis is our trailer body providing ample storage for all of those essential items. The front and rear tailgates provide easy access to this storage area and have beendesigned and constructed to reduce flex ensuring a tight dust and water seal.

We have two standard choices for wheels and tyres, a 5 stud 16" steel rim with 265/75R16 offroad tyres, these are compatible with 100/200 series Landcruisers or a 6 stud 16" steel rim with 265/75R16 offroad tyres, these are compatible with Patrol and earlier model Landcruisers. Other stud and offset combination's can be manufactured upon request.

Weight Distribution
At Trak Shak we follow the Australian design regulations for the construction of small trailers. The design rules call for a 10% ball weight, this is how we have designed our unit. With the unit so well balanced you will find the trailer is very easy to menouvere when not hooked up to the vehicle and puts very little additional stress on the tow vehicle once you venture into the really rough stuff.
